Consultation has concluded
The Heritage Advisory Committee, along with Fireweed Consulting, is developing a Heritage Management Plan. This plan will provide the community with an innovative, sustainable, and realistic framework to inspire and preservation and long-term viability of heritage resources.
The purpose of the Heritage Management Plan is to provide the City of Camrose with an effective, sustainable, and realistic strategic plan of action for the years 2021 to 2031. The City of Camrose has a robust heritage program with an active Heritage Advisory Committee, committed staff, a substantial Heritage Inventory, and growing Heritage Register. This plan will aid in providing policies and tools for managing heritage sites and program development for the next 10 years.

A Heritage Survey and Inventory was completed by volunteer group & city staff.
Over 100 sites were identified, with Statements of Significance of 40 properties complied for the Inventory.
2018
Heritage Management Plan has finished this stage
The Heritage Advisory Committee was formed, consisting of council members and volunteer members.
2019
Heritage Management Plan has finished this stage
The committee brought forth the project of a Heritage Management Plan (HMP). A grant submission was approved by the Heritage Preservation Partnership Program for $8,540 towards completion of the Plan.
2020-2021
Heritage Management Plan has finished this stage
Fireweed Consulting was hired to complete the Heritage Management Plan.
A public online survey was completed in October –November, with an astounding 180 responses. These results were valuable inputs identifying heritage priorities, issues, incentives and expectations.
The Committee completed two workshops and a draft Heritage Management Plan has been completed.
The Plan is in review and is anticipated to be completed and presented to Council in summer 2021.

August 3rd, 2021, City Council approved the Heritage Management Plan as a guiding document.
